41st Sysmex Scientific Seminar (Japan); Millennium Advanced Medicine Has Come a Long Way

The 41st Sysmex Scientific Seminar was held on June 9th, 2018 under the title “Millennium Advanced Medicine Has Come a Long Way”, based on the Millennium Project on Science and Technology initiated in Japan. The lectures covered a wide range of topics on regenerative medicine including iPS cell-based therapies for macular degeneration and Parkinson’s disease, combination of cell transplantation with gene tharapy, and regulatory T-Cells.

1. Important issues in medical research started from the millennium project

Discussion of the impact of Science in Japan caused by the “Millenium Project”, which was initiated by the former Japanese Prime Minister K. Obuchi in 1999 to vitializescience and technology of Japan.

3. Regulatory T cell: from the past to the present
